Boulders Beach, located in Simon’s Town along the Cape Peninsula, is renowned for its resident colony of African penguins. Established in 1983, the colony has become one of the few land-based breeding sites for this endangered species. Visitors can observe the penguins up close via boardwalks that wind through the dunes and vegetation, providing a safe and unobtrusive viewing experience. The beach is sheltered by large granite boulders, offering calm waters ideal for swimming and sunbathing. As part of the Table Mountain National Park, Boulders Beach is managed by SANParks, and an entrance fee is required to access the area.
